The FDIC insures deposits; examines and supervises financial institutions for safety, soundness, and consumer protection; makes large and complex financial institutions resolvable; and manages receiverships.
The FDIC's Money Smart financial education program can help people of all ages enhance their financial skills and create positive banking relationships. Money Smart is a free financial education program developed by the FDIC. The curriculum is available in two formats: 1) Instructor-led format can be used by anyone, even if they have no formal training; and 2) Self-paced learning options including an online learning game and podcasts that convey key financial concepts in a conversational manner.
