Continuing Education Purpose and Objectives

 

Purpose

This biannual event sponsored by Wolters Kluwer, publisher of The Nurse Practitioner® journal, offers evidence-based educational sessions relevant to advanced clinical practice that will give you the tools you need to improve the overall quality of patient care.

 

NCNP Virtual will also meet your  professional development needs by offering credits for skill-building sessions that deliver comprehensive, results-oriented patient care strategies for a variety of conditions. Our expert speakers will cover a broad range of topics for advanced practice clinicians in both primary and acute care as well as urgent and emergency care. CE and advanced pharmacology (Rx) credit will be awarded upon completion of the conference.

 

Target Audience

The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of nurse practitioners and other advanced practice clinicians in primary, acute, urgent, and emergency care settings.

Learning Objectives

 

The purpose of the National Conference for Nurse Practitioners is to offer evidence-based presentations that promote clinical excellence and improve the quality of care that healthcare practitioners provide. By attending this conference and participating in the educational sessions, you’ll be better able to:

 

  • Identify known and emerging therapies in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 infection.
  • Compare and contrast various pharmacologic agents currently available.
  • Identify techniques to ensure safe prescribing.
  • Recognize social determinants of health and strategies to promote health equity.
  • Determine how to assess and clinically manage common acute and chronic conditions.
  • Choose current and new treatment methods and pharmacologic therapies.
  • Identify ways to improve your practice including use of clinical practice guidelines and the latest healthcare technologies and interventions.

 

Learning Outcome

 

At least 75% of the participants will identify one change in practice that they plan to implement as a measure of improvement in nursing professional development.

 

Provider Accreditation

 

Lippincott® Professional Development will award up to 51.75 contact hours and 34.5 Rx credits for

participating in archived sessions within 90 days of the virtual event.

 

Lippincott® Professional Development is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

 

Lippincott® Professional Development is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the

District of Columbia, Georgia, and Florida boards of nursing (CE Broker #50-1223).

 

This activity is also provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for 51.75 contact hours, Provider Number CEP 11749.

 

Clinicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
