402 - Pharmacological Management of Dementia with Behaviors
CE credit: 1.5; Rx credit: 1.5 Changes in behavior caused by dementia is the single most common reason older adults are institutionalized. Behaviors can be the most challenging and distressing effect of dementia-related diseases. There are times when introducing pharmacological treatments may be appropriate and necessary for those individuals with severe symptoms. This is especially true when they have the potential to harm themselves or others. While prescription medications can be effective, they must be used carefully while understanding the risks and benefits. Additionally, certain dementia types fair better with certain medications. Learning Outcomes/Objectives:
Discuss drug choices that should be considered based on the dementia type.
Describe the types of patients that will likely benefit from medical treatments and which medications should be considered.

405 - Therapeutic Approaches to Common Skin Disorders

Therapeutics may go beyond topicals and require systemic treatment for optimal patient outcomes. Once the skin condition is resolved, prevention often becomes the focus.
