Description: This session focuses on leveraging interdisciplinary teams to improve patient safety and quality at the bedside. The unit-based team, including unit leadership, education, quality, and bedside staff, collaborates to identify department specific trends and create action plans to mitigate patient safety events and prevention bundle noncompliance. Front line staff are included in initiatives and serve as ambassadors during the process improvement journey. The acute surgical unit-based team has tackled pain reassessment, antibiotic turnaround time, and falls during the first year of implementation.
