The Medical Society of Delaware (MSD) is a professional state medical organization for Delaware physicians. MSD is the voice of the medical profession in Delaware. It exists solely to represent the medical profession regardless of specialty, practice type, age, gender, background, or professional affiliation. Our Society is one of the oldest institutions of its kind in the United States and rich in history. It was founded in 1776 and incorporated on February 3, 1789, only 12 days after President Washington took his oath of office. Much has changed in the medical profession since then, but the principle upon which this Society was founded remains steadfast: to further the ideals of the medical profession, thereby enhancing the health and well-being of the citizens of Delaware. We do this by guiding, serving, and supporting physicians and promoting the practice and the profession of medicine in Delaware.
